From Miyagi Prefecture

In 1872, Sendai Prefecture was renamed Miyagi Prefecture and incorporated Tamazukuri County from Mizusawa Prefecture. In 1875, it was transferred to Iwai Prefecture again, but the following year, all four counties were reincorporated. In the same year, the four southern counties of Miyagi Prefecture were incorporated into Iwasaki Prefecture, but soon the three counties except Uta County were reincorporated into Miyagi Prefecture, and the current prefecture boundaries were established.
