...Ni-Cu alloys (Monel metal) and Ni-Mo alloys (Hastelloy B) are alloys that have been strengthened to have strong resistance to alkali and non-oxidizing chlorides. Ni-Cr alloys (Inconel) and Ni-Cr-Mo alloys (Ilium G) are known to have improved corrosion resistance in oxidizing acids through the use of chromium.

Copper alloys have excellent corrosion resistance in seawater, and bronze castings are used for ship propellers, while Cu-Zn-Al alloys (aluminum brass) are used for condenser cooling tubes that use seawater.
