Princess Izuro - The Princess of the Streets

Japanese:
Princess Izuro - The Princess of the Streets
Year of birth: Unknown
She was the wife of Emperor Ingyo in the mid-5th century. She was also called Otohime. According to the section on Emperor Ingyo in the Nihon Shoki, after Empress Oshisaka Oonakahime finished dancing at a banquet for the new wife, she presented her younger sister, Kinutsuirohime, to Emperor Ingyo, following the customs of the time. Her name comes from the fact that her beauty shone through her clothes. The Emperor summoned her seven times, but did not attend for fear of her sister's jealousy. At the request of an envoy, she moved from Omisakada (Sakata County, Shiga Prefecture) to the Fujiwara of Yamato (Asuka Village, Takaichi County, Nara Prefecture), but her sister's jealousy did not subside, so the Emperor had her move to Kawachi Chienu (possibly near Izumisano City, Osaka Prefecture) and imposed on the various provinces' nobles to appoint a Fujiwara clan on her behalf and provide for her. The Emperor's daughter Kinutsuiro-no-Ojo mentioned in the Kojiki for Emperor Ingyo is probably a different person.
