A Stone Age culture centered in Denmark and the western Baltic Sea. Carbon-14 dating dates it to 3800-3200 BC. At the time, Central Europe had already entered the Neolithic period, when grains were cultivated, livestock were raised, and pottery was used, but Denmark relied on fishing (cod, etc.), hunting (seals, red deer, wild boar, ducks), and gathering (shellfish and nuts), and is understood to be a Mesolithic culture. However, at a later stage, they came into contact with agricultural culture, and began to use pointed-bottom pottery for cooking and earthen lamps.
