Iyofuro - Iyofuro

A perennial plant of the Geraniaceae family (APG classification: Geraniaceae). Also known as Shikokufuuro. The stems are 30-70 cm tall, and both the flower stalk and leaf stalk have slightly spreading downward hairs. The leaves are pentagonal oblate and slightly shallowly lobed. They flower from July to September, and produce crimson-purple flowers. Both the calyx and petal bases are hairy. They are found in mountainous areas from Honshu to Kyushu. A variety with fewer hairs is called Kaifuuro, and is found in Kai (Yamanashi Prefecture).

フウロソウ科（APG分類：フウロソウ科）の多年草。別名シコクフウロ。茎は高さ30～70センチメートル、花柄、葉柄ともに下向きのやや開出した毛がある。葉は五角状扁円(へんえん)形で、やや浅く分裂する。花期は7～9月、紅紫色の花を開く。萼(がく)、花弁基部ともに毛がある。本州から九州にかけての山地に分布。毛の少ない変種をカイフウロといい、甲斐(かい)（山梨県）に分布する。
