Yatani Temple

A temple located on the middle slope of Mt. Yatani in Mitoyo City, Kagawa Prefecture. It is said that the temple was originally founded by Gyoki as Hachikoku-ji, but was renamed by Kukai. It belongs to the Zentsuji school of the Shingon sect. The mountain name is Kengozan, and the temple name is Senju-in. The principal image is the Thousand-Armed Kannon Bodhisattva. 香川県三豊市、弥谷山の中腹にある寺院。行基が創建した八国寺という寺を、空海が改号したものと伝わる。真言宗善通寺派。山号は剣五山、院号は千手院。本尊は千手観世音菩薩。四国八十八ヶ所霊場第71番札所。
