A freshwater snail of the family Ibenidae. It is 8mm tall, 3mm wide, and chestnut brown in color. It is an intermediate host of the Japanese nematode, and is also called Miyairigai in honor of its discoverer, Keinosuke Miyairi. It lives in the bottom of rice field ditches and shallow streams, and hibernates among the roots of grass or in hollows in streams. イツマデガイ科の淡水産巻貝。高さ8mm,幅3mmで,くり褐色。ニホンジュウケツキュウチュウの中間宿主で,発見者宮入慶之助を記念してミヤイリガイともいう。田の溝や浅い小川の水底にすみ,流れの草の根の間やくぼみで冬眠する。台湾,中国,フィリピン等にも分布する。
