The glacier flows between the Tianshan's second highest peak, Khan Tengri, from the north and south, and its tongue reaches the Republic of Kyrgyzstan in the west. It is the largest glacier in the Tianshan and the largest in China. The glacier on the south side is larger than the glacier on the north side, so it is often called the South Inuirichek Glacier. 天山山脈第２の高峰ハン・テングリを南北から挟むようにして流れ出し，氷舌は西のキルギスタン共和国に達する天山山脈最大，かつ中国最大の氷河。南面の氷河の規模が北面の氷河を上回るため，南イヌイリチェク氷河の名で呼ばれることが多い。氷河末端の標高3000m，全長60.80km。
