Japanese: 交野[市] - かたの

A city in the northeastern part of Osaka Prefecture. It was incorporated as a city in 1971. The northern half is the Katano Plateau, and 50% of the city area is mountain forest. There is a central city area where the Katamachi Line and the Keihan Katano Line pass, and machinery and textile industries are carried out. Rice and wheat are produced on the plateau, and the southern half is at the foot of the Ikoma Mountains, where mandarin oranges, peaches, and strawberries are cultivated. With the development of the transportation network, it is changing into a residential city. There are many beautiful scenic spots of flower-shaped rocks caused by weathering, and it is also a tourist destination that is part of Kongo-Ikoma Quasi-National Park (Kankengo-Ikoma-Kisen Quasi-National Park). 25.55 ^km2 . Population 77,686 (2010).
