The branches are covered with flowers about 2cm in diameter before the leaves appear. Another name for the weeping cherry tree. A cherry blossom thread longer than a half-day's rain \ Matsuo Basho Cherry blossom is written as "Sakura" in Manyo-gana. It can be translated into kanji as "narrow seat," meaning that the flower blooms in a narrow rocky area in the mountains. It was probably named after the mountain cherry. In ancient times, rocky areas in the mountains were people's deep castles (cemeteries). It is not without reason that Kajii Motojiro said, "Corpses are buried under the cherry trees! (omitted) Because it is hard to believe that cherry blossoms can bloom so beautifully" (Under the Cherry Trees).
