Ito Sukenori

Japanese: 伊東祐慶 - いとうすけのり

1589-1636 A daimyo in the early Edo period.
Born on June 13, 1581. Second son of Ito Suketaka. In 1602, he became the second lord of the Ito clan in Obi Domain in Hyuga (Miyazaki Prefecture). In 1604, he attacked the chief retainer Inatsu Kamonnosuke, who had refused to obey his lord's orders and holed himself up in Kiyotake Castle, forcing him to commit seppuku. In 1606, a new land survey was carried out and he was awarded 57,000 koku. In 1621, a border dispute arose with the territory of Satsuma Domain (Miyakonojo), and in 1622, he forced the Shimazu clan to make concessions and resolved the matter in his favor. He died on April 4, 1630, at the age of 48.

天正(てんしょう)17年6月13日生まれ。伊東祐兵(すけたか)の次男。慶長5年日向(ひゅうが)(宮崎県)飫肥(おび)藩主伊東家2代となる。7年主命にしたがわず清武(きよたけ)城にこもった家老稲津掃部助(かもんのすけ)を攻め,切腹させる。9年新検地の実施により5万7000石。寛永4年薩摩(さつま)藩領(都城)との間に境界争いがおき,11年島津氏に譲歩させ,有利に解決した。寛永13年4月4日死去。48歳。
