Born on June 13, 1581. Second son of Ito Suketaka. In 1602, he became the second lord of the Ito clan in Obi Domain in Hyuga (Miyazaki Prefecture). In 1604, he attacked the chief retainer Inatsu Kamonnosuke, who had refused to obey his lord's orders and holed himself up in Kiyotake Castle, forcing him to commit seppuku. In 1606, a new land survey was carried out and he was awarded 57,000 koku. In 1621, a border dispute arose with the territory of Satsuma Domain (Miyakonojo), and in 1622, he forced the Shimazu clan to make concessions and resolved the matter in his favor. He died on April 4, 1630, at the age of 48. Source: Kodansha Digital Japanese Name Dictionary +Plus Information | Legend |
