General Exercise - Ippan Taisou

…A judged competition that combines gymnastics and modern dance. Using ropes, hoops, balls, clubs, and ribbons, the skill of the equipment and the diversity of the movements are expressed in an original and artistic way in harmony with the accompanying music. It is divided into individual and group performances.
[history]
The "gymnastics reform movement" began in Germany in the early 20th century. Furthermore, with Isadora Duncan as its founder, who broke with the style of classical ballet, the "dance revolution" brought ideas into dance, and clarified the artistic direction of dance in one fell swoop, giving birth to modern dance.
