City Hall - Ichiyaku

...Towns and villages that established markets were levied with taxes and annual tributes. In Koma-cho, Koma-gun, Musashi Province (Hidaka-cho, Iruma-gun, Saitama Prefecture), which was established in 1597 (Keicho 2), the city hall was responsible for the various affairs of the magistrate's jinya (camp) in the town. In Shinmachi-mura, Tama-gun, Musashi Province, the city hall was responsible for watching over the lacquer collected as annual tributes at the magistrate's jinya in Ome.
