Italian Social Movement (MSI)

A neo-fascist movement in Italy after World War II. Founded in 1948, it entered parliament around the second general election in 1953, drawing on former fascists and the peasant classes in the south. It became more active after the stagnation of the Italian economy from 1964 onwards, and in the 1970s it joined forces with royalists to expand its organisation. In the general election of June 1976 it had 15 members in the Senate (315 in total) and 35 in the House of Representatives (630 in total).

第2次世界大戦後のイタリアのネオファシズム運動。 1948年に成立し，53年の第2回総選挙頃から旧ファシストあるいは南部の小市民，農民層を基盤として議会に進出。 64年以降のイタリア経済の停滞期から活発となり，70年代には王党派と組んで組織を拡大，76年6月の総選挙では上院 15名 (定員 315名) ，下院 35名 (定員 630名) の勢力を示した。
