...As a result, the shapes and glaze tones were no longer as splendid as they had been in the past, and were reborn in new styles, but without the same splendor. Sancai from this period was exported overseas like other pottery, and while the Prosperous Tang Sancai was imitated in neighboring countries such as Bohai, Silla (Silla Sancai), and Japan (Nara Sancai), it had a great influence on pottery in far-flung Western Asia, and became the catalyst for the birth of Islamic Sancai in that region. Tang Sancai kilns have been discovered in Dahuangye and Xiaohuangye, Gong County, on the eastern outskirts of Luoyang, and it appears that these kilns fired both Prosperous and Late Tang Sancai in succession, but there are also likely other unknown kilns in Chang'an (Xi'an) and the outskirts of Luoyang. ...
