Izuminomiya

…An imperial villa built by Emperor Gensho in Izumi County, Kawachi Province, during the Nara period to escape the winter. It is also written as Chinu Imperial Villa or Izumi Palace. In the entry for March of the second year of the Reiki era (716) in the Shoku Nihongi, it says that "The Izumi and Hinen counties of Kawachi Province were divided and used for Chinu Palace (they provided the labor and expenses for construction)," and in the entry for April of the same year, it says that "The three counties of Otori, Izumi, and Hinen were divided and a supervisor was appointed in Izumi," so the three counties had been included in Kawachi Province until then. …
