…The period from Easter to Pentecost is called Easter Season, and is celebrated with great pomp during the Easter Vigil. Because the death and resurrection of Christ occurred during the Old Testament Passover, Christians came to call that event the Lord's Passover, and the day commemorating this event came to be known as the Christian Passover, celebrated on the Sunday after the 14th (full moon) of the month of Nisan (after the vernal equinox) (Easter Sunday). There was also a custom of celebrating it on the 14th, but this became standard after the Council of Nicaea (325). …
