Year of birth: Unknown. A feudal lord in the Azuchi-Momoyama period. Commonly known as Hyozo and Bizen no Kami. Originally named Mitsuyoshi or Miyoshi. Called Sorin. Became an emissary for Toyotomi Hideyoshi. After the Battle of Odawara in 1590, he was bestowed with 12,000 koku and became the lord of Inuyama Castle in Owari Province. At the same time, he also served as the magistrate of Kiso in Shinano Province. In 1599, his fief was increased to 120,000 koku. In the same year, he joined the Western side in the Battle of Sekigahara. After the war, he was stripped of his title, but escaped death with 1,000 gold coins by releasing hostages from Kiso samurai who had sided with the Middle Eastern army besieged in Inuyama. In the same year, he received a small amount of rice stipend. 安土桃山時代の大名。通称は兵蔵,備前守。初名は光吉,三吉とも。宗林と号す。豊臣秀吉の使番となる。天正18(1590)年小田原の役後,1万2000石を拝領し,尾張国犬山城主となる。同時に信濃国木曾の代官を兼ねた。慶長4(1599)年12万石に加増される。同5年関ケ原の戦には西軍に応じる。戦後改易されたが,犬山籠城中東軍に加担した木曾郷士の人質を釈放したことによって,黄金1000枚で死を免れた。同18年僅かな扶持米を受けた。剃髪して宗林と号し,京都で金融業を営んだ。<参考文献>山鹿素行『武家事紀』,桑田忠親『太閤家臣団』
