Kasugai [city] - Kasugai
A city in the north of Aichi Prefecture, adjacent to the northeast of Nagoya. It was incorporated as a city in 1943. It was once a rural area on the eastern side of the Nobi Plain, but in 1939, the Army Arsenal was established and it developed. After World War II, a paper mill was attracted and related industries also developed. In recent years, electrical equipment has surpassed the paper industry in terms of manufacturing shipment value, and the city as a whole has achieved shipment value of nearly 700 billion yen (2003). It is connected to the Chuo Main Line, Meitetsu Komaki Line, Tokai Transport Corporation Johoku Line, Aichi Loop Line, Tomei Expressway, and Nagoya Second Circular Expressway, and is becoming a satellite city of Nagoya. There is a large housing complex in Kozoji in the east that was completed in 1968. 92.78 km2 . 305,569 people (2010).
