...In the Middle Ages, it was called Fukakusa Hokkedo, and the name was first seen in 1500 (Meiō 9) when Emperor Go-Tsuchimikado died. Records confirm that Anrakukoin, a temple of the Jimyōin line (Northern Court), existed in what is now Anraku-koji-chō in Kamigyo-ku until 1475 (Bunkai 7), and there is a theory that this temple was moved to Fukakusa, but there is no definite proof.
