Andreoli, G.

… At that time, Renaissance humanism was on the rise in Italy, and maiolica pottery was produced in various places in central Italy, such as Faenza, Florence, Urbino, and Gubbio, following the techniques of Hispano-Moresque pottery. In particular, with the emergence of Giorgio Andreoli (active around 1492-1553), a master of lusterware in Gubbio, and Nicola Pellipario (active 1510-42), a master of istoriato (narrative painting), in the early 16th century, maiolica pottery saw a wide range of developments that far surpassed Hispano-Moresque pottery. In parallel with this, many Italian potters in the 16th century emigrated to France and Germany, built kilns, and engaged in pottery making. …

From [Majolica]

...The major kilns that produced this pottery include the Cafagiolo in Florence, which was opened by the Medici family in 1506, Faenza, which later became the largest kiln in Italy, Deruta near Perugia, Gubbio in Umbria, Castel Durante near Urbino, and Venice. The Deruta kiln saw great development under the patronage of Cesare Borgia at the end of the 15th century, and Gubbio was opened around 1505 by Giorgio Andreoli (active around 1492-1553) who fired luster-glazed painted pottery, while Castel Durante produced the greatest Maiolic ceramic painter, Nicola Pellipario (active around 1510-1542), in the early 16th century. In addition to the polychrome maiolica mentioned above, there is also the line-drawn maiolica (zgrafiato), which is now called mezza maiolica (semi-maiolica).
