A representative Caucasoid (white) race. Distributed throughout central Europe from east to west. Named after the region that coincides with the Alps. People with this race are particularly concentrated in the Bavarian region of southern Germany, but at the same time, people with this race are scattered throughout Europe and even the Middle East. Their characteristics are characterized by a short head and brunette (dark brown or brown hair and eyes, tan skin). They have a broad forehead and a somewhat broad nose. They are stocky and of medium height, with short limbs but large hands and feet.

コーカソイド (白色人種) の代表的人種。ヨーロッパ中央地帯に東西にわたって分布。その地域がアルプス山脈と一致するのでこの名がある。特に南ドイツのバイエルン地方には，この人種の特徴をもった者が集中するが，同時に，ヨーロッパばかりでなく，中東までこの特徴をもった者は散在する。その形質は短頭と，ブルネット (毛髪や目の色が暗褐色ないし褐色，皮膚は小麦色) で特徴づけられる。額は広く，鼻はやや広い。体はずんぐりして中身長，四肢は短いが手足は大きい。
