Altaic Language Family - Altaics

Japanese: アルタイ語族 - アルタイごぞく（英語表記）Altaics

A general term for the three language families: Turkish, Mongolian, and Tungusic. The Turkish family is found mainly in the regions of Central Asia, while the Mongolian family is found in Mongolia and the Inner Mongolia region of China, but has spread to Asia Minor and Russia due to ethnic migration. The Manchu language of the Jurchen people who founded the Qing Dynasty belongs to Tungusic. There is also a strong theory that Korean and Japanese should be added to this family. Linguistic characteristics include the predicate coming at the end of the sentence, being an agglutinative language, and showing vowel harmony.

トルコ語族は主として中央アジアの諸地域，モンゴル語族はモンゴルおよび中国の内モンゴル地方に分布するが，民族移動により小アジア・ロシアなどにも広がっている。清朝を建てた女真人の満州語はツングース語に属する。朝鮮語・日本語をこの語族に加える説も有力。述語が文末にくること，膠着 (こうちやく) 語型であること，母音調和を示すことなどが言語的特徴である。
