Moriaki Arakida
1466-1516 A Shinto priest from the Muromachi to Sengoku period.
Born in the first year of the Bunsho era. Older brother of Arakida Moritake. In the tenth year of Bunmei era, he became the tenth negi (chief priest) of the Ise Naiku Shrine, and in the thirteenth year of the Eisho era, he became the first negi (chief priest), but committed suicide six days later on November 17th of the same year. He was 51 years old. He wrote the Eishoki, which clarified the sources of various rituals, and the Naiku Hikitsuke, a book on the rituals and construction of the shrine. He studied under Sogi and was also fond of renga (linked verse). His real surname was Sonoda.

文正(ぶんしょう)元年生まれ。荒木田守武の兄。文明10年伊勢内宮の十禰宜(ねぎ)となり,永正(えいしょう)13年に一禰宜(長官)となるが,6日後の同年11月17日自殺。51歳。諸儀の典拠をあきらかにした「永正記」,神宮の祭祀(さいし)・造営などに関する書「内宮引付」などをあらわした。宗祇(そうぎ)にまなび,連歌もよくした。本姓は薗田。
