…JA Schumpeter named this cycle the Juglar cycle after himself. However, in the 1920s, J. Kitchin (date of birth and death unknown) examined the fluctuations in bill exchange rates, prices, and interest rates in the United States and the United Kingdom from 1890 to 1922 and discovered that in addition to the Juglar cycle, there was another cycle with an average period of 40 months, and that one Juglar cycle often consisted of three small cycles, and sometimes two. A similar cycle was revealed at almost the same time by WL Crum in his analysis of New York's commercial bill discount rates from 1866 to 1922. …
