Ayabe - Ayabe
A city in the Fukuchiyama Basin in the central-western part of Kyoto Prefecture. During the Edo period, it was the castle town of the Kuki clan. In ancient times, the city was known for its twill weaving. Chinese Ayabe The textile and machinery industries were thriving here. Omotokyo Omoto today Birthplace. Population: 36,000 (2010).
