...This is a magnificent poem that is a sequel to Homer's epic poem, and describes the hero's travels in three times the length of Homer's work. He also wrote many masterpieces in the field of novels, including "The Curious Life of Alexis Zorbas" (1946), which was made into a film (1965) under the title "Zorba the Man," and "Christ Recrucified" (1948), which have been translated into various languages. He was an active traveler and visited Japan in 1935.
