He also wrote many masterpieces in the field of novels, including "The Curious Life of Alexis Zorbas" (1946), which was made into a film (1965) under the title "Zorba the Man," and "Christ Recrucified" (1948), which have been translated into various languages. He was an active traveler and visited Japan in 1935.
