...It has white spots from the throat to the chin. There are two species: the European mink Mustela lutreola (illustration) (body length 28-43 cm, tail length 12-19 cm, weight up to about 740 g) that lives in Finland, Russia, Poland, France, etc., and the American mink M. vison (body length 33-43 cm, tail length 16-23 cm, weight 680-2310 g) that lives in North America. The two species are very similar except for slight differences in size, but the European mink is characterized by the white spots from the throat to the chin that extend to the upper jaw.
