For example, when plowing the fields in spring, they would work for three days and rest for one day, or after planting rice they would take a "Sanaburi" break, or after the harvest they would take a farming break to forget about autumn. Also, when it rained after a long period of drought, they would take special breaks called "Amefuri Shogatsu" and "Oshimeri Shogatsu" to rejuvenate their tired bodies.
