The old term for pancreatic amylase. Amylase is a digestive enzyme that breaks down sugars and is secreted mainly from the salivary glands and pancreas. When the pancreas is damaged, amylase leaks into the blood and urine, so measuring amylase in serum and urine is useful for diagnosing pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer. 膵 (液) アミラーゼの旧語。アミラーゼは糖類を分解する消化酵素で，主として唾液腺と膵臓から分泌される。膵臓の障害があると血液や尿の中にアミラーゼが漏れ出てくるので，血清・尿中のアミラーゼを測定すると，膵炎や膵癌などの診断に役立つ。
