...Terra Firme is covered with tropical rainforest, and in addition to traditional industries such as the harvesting of natural rubber and chestnuts, abundant forest resources and various mineral resources are being developed. For these developments, roads such as the Trans-Amazon Highway have been built by cutting down forests. However, on the other hand, there are voices of concern that the development of forest resources in Terra Firme and the cutting down of forests for road construction will destroy the natural environment, and this has become a topic of discussion not only in Brazil but also around the world.
