Katsuhisa Amako

A military commander in the Sengoku period. The third son of Amago Masahisa of the Shingū Party. In 1554, his grandfather Kunihisa and father Masahisa were killed by Amago Haruhisa, and he fled to become a monk at Tofukuji Temple in Kyoto. In 1566, Yoshihisa (Haruhisa's son) of Izumo Tomita (Gassan) Castle surrendered to the Mori clan, and he was supported by the remaining retainers Yamanaka Yukimori and Tachihara Hisatsuna, who had traveled to Kyoto in exile. He returned to secular life and called himself Magoshirō Katsuhisa. In 1570, he entered Izumo and temporarily recovered most of it, but in 1570, he fought the Mori army and was defeated, then went to Kyoto and sought refuge with Oda Nobunaga. In 1578, he joined Hashiba (Toyotomi) Hideyoshi and based himself in Harima Kozuki Castle, but in July of the same year, the castle fell and he committed suicide, and the famous Amago clan was wiped out. <References> "Shimane Prefecture History" Volume 8, Hideo Segawa, "Yoshikawa Motoharu"

戦国時代の武将。新宮党尼子誠久の3男。天文23(1554)年,祖父国久と父誠久を尼子晴久に殺され,逃れて京都東福寺の僧となる。永禄9(1566)年,出雲富田(月山)城の義久(晴久の子)が毛利氏の軍門に下ったため流浪上洛した遺臣山中幸盛,立原久綱らにより擁立される。還俗し,孫四郎勝久と称した。同12年出雲に進入,一時その大半を回復したが,元亀1(1570)年,毛利軍と戦って敗走,上洛して織田信長を頼る。天正6(1578)年,羽柴(豊臣)秀吉に属して播磨上月城に拠ったが,同年7月落城,自刃し,名族尼子氏はここに滅んだ。<参考文献>『島根県史』8巻,瀬川秀雄『吉川元春』
