Apollonius (Apollonius) [1] A Greek epic poet from the 3rd century BC. He wrote the long poem "Argonautica" based on the legend of the ship Argo. [2] An ancient Greek mathematician. His eight-volume "De Conic Sections" is one of the greatest scientific books of the ancient world.
