Abe Gold Mine

...Hot spring in Umegashima, Shizuoka City, northern Shizuoka Prefecture. Simple sulfur spring, 41°C. Located upstream of the Abe River, at the southern foot of Hakkomine, it is an inconvenient location about two hours by bus from Shizuoka, deep in the mountains. It was said to be a secret hot spring for the Takeda clan of Kai during the Sengoku period, and in the Edo period, it was also called Koganeyu (golden hot spring) because the nearby Umegashima (Abe) gold mine flourished. The Southern Alps can be seen nearby, and if you cross Abe Pass to the northeast, you can reach Minobu in Yamanashi Prefecture. In the Abe River valley, Abe Otaki and Sandan Falls, both with a drop of about 90m, hang. ...

…静岡県北部，静岡市梅ヶ島にある温泉。単純硫黄泉，41℃。安倍川の上流，八紘（はつこう）嶺の南麓に位置し，静岡からバスで約2時間山道を奥に入る不便な地である。戦国期には甲斐武田氏の隠し湯と伝えられ，江戸時代は付近の梅ヶ島(安倍)金山が栄えていたため，黄金（こがね）湯とも呼ばれた。南アルプスが近くに見え，北東方の安倍峠を越えると山梨県身延へ通じる。安倍川の渓谷には，落差約90mの安倍大滝，三段滝がかかる。…
