Located on the summit of Mt. Oyama in Isehara City, Kanagawa Prefecture. Oyamatsumi-no-mikoto is enshrined at the main shrine. Due to the deity and the shape of the mountain on which it is enshrined, it is believed to be a shrine that arose from mountain worship, and has been known since ancient times as a sacred place for Shugen. Also called Sekison Daigongen, it was headed by Taisanji Temple, but became independent when Shinto and Buddhism were separated in the Meiji period. Since the Middle Ages, it has been trusted by samurai and has a strong faith among the general public. It is a shrine listed in the Engishiki. It was formerly a prefectural shrine. It is famous for the mikoshi (portable shrine) procession that takes place during the autumn festival (August 27-29). Its Yamatomai and Mikomai dances are intangible folk cultural properties of the prefecture.
