Abu Musa [island] - Abu Musa

...In the 20th century, under the pressure of Dubai's open-door policy, its position as a commercial port has been overtaken in recent years. Oil development began in 1969, when an oil field was discovered in Mubarak off the coast of Abu Musa Island, and production began in 1974. It is one of the three oil-producing countries of the federation, but its production amount is 2% of the total in the federation, ranking third.
