A classification name for jiuta sokyoku. It means something that was created in Kyoto, and is a name used in Osaka to distinguish it, but in the Yamada school, it is incorrectly used to refer to all jiuta-introduced works, not just those created in Kyoto. In terms of date, it refers to works from the Bunka-Bunsei era onwards, composed by Matsuura Kengyo, Kikuoka Kengyo, Ishikawa Koto, and others, as well as those composed by Yaezaki Kengyo and others using a replacement-hand style koto. Pieces with relatively long instrumental interludes are called Kyoto-style tegotomono, and an ensemble style in which the jiuta sangen and koto are given equal weight was performed, and as a result, it became impossible to distinguish between jiuta and sokyoku.
