New Freedom

Japanese: 新しい自由 - あたらしいじゆう(英語表記)New Freedom
New Freedom
This was the policy slogan of the 28th President of the United States, W. Wilson. He first used it during the 1912 presidential election campaign, and published it in his book of the same name the following year. He believed that the existence of privileged trusts was an impediment to traditional American freedom, and that the federal government should play an active role in helping individuals and small businesses and achieving social justice. This was realized through many bills, including the Federal Reserve Act of 1913 and the Antitrust Act of 1914, and was the forerunner of the New Deal.
