Also known as sun-dried bricks, adobe is a type of brick made by mixing clay with grass or small pieces of pumice as binders and then drying it in the sun. There are many examples of adobe used in ancient Mesoamerican and Andean architecture. It has the advantage of being cool in summer and warm in winter, and is still used in parts of Mexico.
