Born in 1581. The third son of Asano Nagamasa. He served Tokugawa Hidetada and became the lord of Moka Domain in Shimotsuke (Tochigi Prefecture). In 1613, he succeeded his father as the lord of Makabe Domain in Hitachi (Ibaraki Prefecture) as the second head of the Asano family. He distinguished himself in the Siege of Osaka, and was transferred to a fief of 53,500 koku, becoming the first head of the Asano family to become the lord of Kasama Domain in Hitachi.
