Asylum - Asylum

...the act of one country granting hospitality and protection to political asylum seekers from another country and refusing to hand them over to the other country. Also called asylum. Political asylum is granted when a country's government or its diplomatic representative (embassy, ​​consulate, etc.) accepts and protects fugitives from the lawful jurisdiction of another country or from imminent danger of violence.
