Nuclear Magnetic Moment - Electromagnetic Moment

This refers to the magnetic moment of an atomic nucleus. If the sum of the orbital angular momentum of the nucleons that make up the nucleus is L and the sum of their spins is S , then the total angular momentum I of the nucleus is

I = L + S
In atomic nuclei, this I is usually called the nuclear spin. If the number of nucleons is even, the nuclear spin I is 0 or an integer, and if the number is odd, it is a half-integer. The nuclear magnetic moment μ is due to this nuclear spin I , and the relationship between the two is

μ ＝ g μ _N I
Here, μN is _the unit of magnetic moment called the nuclear magneton, and g is the nuclear g-factor.
