Tago family

Japanese:
Tago family
A local feudal lord based in Tako Manor in Kozuke Province (Gunma Prefecture). The area of Tako Manor is unknown, but it is believed to be in Tako District (present-day Yoshii Town, Tano District). It includes villages such as Tako, Tabira, Jinbo, and Nagane. The Tako clan is the descendant of the Yoshii clan, a naturalized Silla descendant whose faith is tied to the Karashina Shrine in Kami Jinbo, and is thought to be related to the Jinbo and Tabira clans. The name of Tago Jiro Ienaka, who followed Kiso Yoshinaka, appears in the Genpei Seisuiki, and Tago Souta, Muneta, Miyauchi Saemontaro, and Miyauchi Saemonnojo appear as vassals in the Azuma Kagami, and the site of Tago Munetsugu is listed in the Kusunoki Kassen Chumon.
