Malay [Islands] - Malay
A general term for the islands between the southeastern part of the Asian continent and the Australian continent. Also known as the Malay Islands. It consists of the Greater Sunda Islands, which include Sumatra, Java, Borneo, etc., the Lesser Sunda Islands, also known as Nusa Tenggara, the Maluku Islands, and the Philippine Islands. Tectonically, it is the junction between Asia and Australia, and is also subject to intense volcanic activity. Overall, it has a tropical monsoon climate. It has long been known as an area rich in various specialty products, including spices, and has been a stage for the occupation and activities of various ethnic groups and nations. It also has the highest population density of any tropical region in the world. However, a major feature of this region is the mixture of developed and undeveloped islands. It produces oil, rice, tea, coffee, rubber, etc.
