A Tendai sect temple in Bessho-cho, Hirata City, Shimane Prefecture (now Izumo City). The principal image is the Thousand-Armed Kannon and Yakushi Nyorai. It is said to have been founded by Chiharu. Located deep in a secluded mountain valley, it was known as the Hieizan of Izumo. It was a base for Shugendo, Zao faith, and Nyohokyo faith. There are many important cultural properties, including a standing statue of Kannon Bodhisattva with an inscription from the year Jinjin (692), a Sanno Honji Buddha statue, a one-character golden wheel mandala, and a prayer by Emperor Go-Daigo.
