Born August 11, 1897. Younger sister of Akamatsu Chijo and Akamatsu Katsumaro. After dropping out of Kyoto Women's College (now Kyoto Women's University), she joined the Japan General Labour Federation in 1925, becoming head of the women's division and leading disputes in the textile industry and other areas. After the war, she became head of the women's division of the Socialist Party. In 1947, she was elected member of the House of Councillors (elected three times). Later, she participated in the formation of the Democratic Socialist Party. Died July 21, 1965. Age 67. Born in Yamaguchi Prefecture.
