A town in Oura County in the southeastern part of Gunma Prefecture. The town is located on a low-lying alluvial plateau, and is cultivated with rice paddies, producing rice, wheat, and vegetables. There is an industrial park where automobile-related companies have set up shop. The Tobu Koizumi Line runs through the town. Area: 31.11 km2 . Population: 27,023 (2010).
