A marsupial of the Macropus family. Males are 130-160cm long and females 88-110cm long, making them the largest species of kangaroo. They have soft fur and are chestnut or reddish-brown in males, and blue-gray in females. They live in groups of 10-12 on the dry grasslands of hilly regions. Groups consist of 2-3 adult males, adult females, and their young. They are active from dusk to dawn, and mainly eat grass. Their habitat is slightly different from that of the closely related eastern grey kangaroo (which lives in the dark soil areas of scrub forests). They are found in Australia.
