…A beautiful fish, as its name suggests, Nishiki (brown) is the most common wrasse found on the shores of central Honshu and south, but is rare south of Amami Oshima. Nishiki wrasse is called Aobera (Wakayama) or Ao-tenjo (Kominato) because of the conspicuous blue color of its back, and is also called Jorokusabi (Nagasaki). It can reach a total length of 20cm, but the ones usually seen are around 10cm. …
