Japanese: 華嵒 - かがん

A Chinese painter of the Qing dynasty. His pen name was Qiu Yue and his pen name was Silla Shanren. He was from Linting (Fujian Province). He moved to Hangzhou at a young age, and after middle age he frequently went to Yangzhou, where he lived for a long time, so he is considered a painter of Yangzhou. His works cover the fields of portraits, landscapes, flowers and birds, and insects. His unique style, which was formed after extensive training in established, authentic painting techniques, is based on free expression, and his works often contain vividness in elegant, cool colors, and are light and sharp, with a sense of ease and elegance permeating the canvas.

中国，清代の画家。字は秋岳，号は新羅山人。臨汀（福建省）の人。若くして杭州に移居，中年以後しばしば揚州に赴き，そこに久しく寓居(ぐうきょ)したので，揚州の画家とみなされている。作域は人物・山水・花鳥・草虫の各部門に及び，既成本格の画技を広く習練したうえで形成されたその個性的画風は，自由な表現性を生命とし，淡雅清冽(せいれつ)な色調のうちに鮮麗さを蔵し，軽快でしかも鋭く，飄逸(ひょういつ)な気分が画面にただようものも少なくない。
